Yardley - Final Focus

After scoring a try on Saturday in the win against Ebbw Vale, hooker Evan Yardley and his teammates are now focusing on the final on Sunday.

Since last April RGC have seen a few downs and plenty of up's from a last kick defeat against Swansea in the Championship, a crucial win against Pontypool that set then on the way to promotion and then some big results in the Principality Premiership.

“It has been a whirlwind of a 12 months I think looking back to last season that crucial defeat away to Swansea where we seemed down and out."

"It just shows the boys character and the mind-set that we always keep on trying I think that has sort of become our motto in a way, as we do keep our focus for the whole 80 mins. We have had some really tough physical encounters this year and some may have thought that we were down and out but we kept on playing until the final passage of play and that really is the make or break at this level."

"Looking to Sunday it's new for RGC, Pontypridd have been in this situation many times before historically they have done extremely well in this competition which may give them the upper hand on the weekend but all we can do is enjoy the day embrace the atmosphere.  I have no doubt the North Wales support will be huge like it has been all year, come those final minutes of the game when both teams are exhausted I have the belief that we will just have that mental edge and the fitness to see us through an finish strong.”
