NORTH WALES RUGBY GOES DIGITAL

We are delighted to announce that RGC and the North Wales Development Region have launched a new responsive and bilingual website which has been created to serve a number of key audiences and groups including players, supporters, clubs, coaches and communities from across the North Wales Region.

The new platform will be bilingual, and to ensure this is achieved, we will be working closely with our Official Translations Partner Cymen who are based out of Caernarfon.

With over 1 million people spread across the rural landscape and backdrop of North Wales, the region requires an innovative and interactive way to connect with people more often, more effectively and with more content.

The North Wales region already has some informative regional rugby websites in place including Oval Zone and the North Wales Rugby Union Council websites which do an excellent job keeping the region updated with all the latest club news, fixtures and results. Our new website will look to support and work in partnership with these two websites to ensure that we have an effective and efficient digital presence and approach to our North Wales rugby related communications.

Sion Jones, General Manager for the North Wales Development Region and RGC commented “following a recent RGC supporters survey, it was identified that the region required a new digital offering which provided relevant and timely information throughout the year. It was also clear that supporters wanted something of a similar standard to the other four rugby regions so it was important that we created a quality product”

“The new website will support RGC and the North Wales Development Region, we will be looking to promote our Performance and Participation work that takes places across the region as well as promoting the game in all formats – so it has a big job to do”

Both the Welsh and English versions of the website have had a soft launch, and work will now commence on continuing to develop the website to support the delivery of the communications strategy which will be rolled out over the next few weeks.
