Message From RGC

If you missed reading the RGC Match Programme then here is the article from Joe Lydon

Welcome to Eirias

To both new and returning friends visiting Parc Eirias may I on behalf of RGC and the WRU wish you all a very warm welcome. We hope you enjoy this the first of the preseason warm up fixtures as we prepare the RGC squad for the start of an exciting and historic season within the Principality Premiership, now only a matter of weeks

This evening we also welcome the Dragons to North Wales for our first preseason game of the year. As a Regional outfit consisting of senior and young professional players there is no doubt they will prove to be a tough opponent, however we will be looking for our players to take on the challenge, and build on the foundations we set last season and in the pre season period to date.

You will see some new faces on the field for RGC tonight. This fixture provides us with an excellent opportunity to blood and blend new talent as we welcome the likes of Ross Davies, Jacob Botica, Jed Kerkin, and Rhys Williams to the region as we continue to build the squad in readiness for the Premiership Campaign. Ross and Jacob have both played top level rugby in the past and will bring an element of experience to a young squad. Jed is a young developing player who has come through the WRU Exiles programme and is keen to develop his abilities with us. Rhys is an ex-RGC Regional Age Grade player who has been a member of the Leicester Tigers Academy until returning to the Senior RGC setup this year. Sam Wainwright and George Roberts are, like many of the current squad, RGC Academy graduates who have shown great progress and potential over the last 2 years, and are deserving of their opportunity in the Senior squad.

Now to the Coaches! As many of you will be aware we are in the process of building on the great on and off field coaching that the RGC squad has benefited from since its beginnings. To player, staff and supporter alike I'm pleased to report that we are in the final stages of the appointments and Im confident we will be in a position within the coming days to be able to announce the new look Coaching team that I feel sure will compliment the fantastic player development being provide by the existing support staff across not only the RGC programmes but also across the North Wales Development Region. Watch this space!
