Energy and Physicality Needed

Sam Wainwright believes the response from the players last week will be built on this Saturday at Neath.

Head Coach Mark Jones has said that the win against Llanelli needs to be backed up with another high performance when the take on Neath

The RGC forward knows the game against Neath will be another tough away trip “We are really pleased as a squad with the result against Llanelli as it was a tough game like the score showed. Llanelli are a well put together side and this game was massive for us to prove a point and make a statement after the disappointment at Llandovery the week before. The game was a real pick as the whole team new we under preformed at Llandovery we went through a tough weeks training after this disappointment and had time to self-reflect as a squad.”

Wainwright benefited from playing alongside Phil John last season, and John is focusing on coaching now “We went back to basics and had a good tough scrum and line out unit session as a pack with Phil. This week will also be a tough match against Neath as they are also a well put together side. We will look to bring the same energy and physicality as we did against Llanelli this week put on a good performance for our travelling supporters.
